sudden and temporary paralysis

sometimes death takes you by surprise, and then sometimes it is life that takes you by surprise. both rendering you unable to move. unable to breathe. violently passing over your body like a black and smoky cloud of fire. the flames lapping downward like a giant tongue. scalding your heart and your soul. it happens so quickly. one minute you are fine and in the next minute you cannot remember when you were fine. you know you are burned and yet you are thankful that this feeling will pass and someday you will be able to breathe again. will you be able to breathe again?
